Historical rooms of  the inn

The Inn at Montross blends its storied past with modern comfort—offering beautifully restored rooms that capture the charm of the 1800s while providing the amenities travelers expect today. Each room tells a piece of the inn’s history, creating a warm and inviting retreat for visitors exploring the heart of Montross.

Our Five Inviting Guestrooms

Washington Suite

Named after our favorite local celebrity, the Gen. Washington Suite offers guests historic charm, with a burst of patriotic color. Right in the middle of all the action, this room allows guests to harken back to a day when you could see George himself riding through the center of town.

White door slightly ajar revealing a bedroom with a bed, desk, and area rug.
Bedroom interior, open white door, bed with white bedding, patterned rug, lamp.

Potomac Suite

With colors and patterns drawn from the mighty river itself, the Potomac Suite is a calm and relaxing room with the antique furnishings to match. A restful stay here will get you ready for a full day on the river.

Stratford Suite

Certainly our most decorative room, the Stratford Suite features longstanding and on-point touches of design that allow our guests to be transported to a time of style and luxury that has long since passed everywhere outside the Inn.

Open white door leads to a bedroom. Bed with red and white decor visible.
White door with brass nameplate reading "Marbles," open to a bedroom with a bed and green rug.

Madeira Suite

This room is a tribute to the "rich old" style of Madeira that Washington himself preferred. The Madeira Suite is our largest room, featuring enough room to have a spacious and quiet glass from your favorite bottle to start or end your evening the right way.

Garden Suite

Want a little more quiet? The Garden Suite is the furthest from the main action, providing guests with not only a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy the quiet company of a favorite traveling companion or recharge in the tranquil environment around you.

Open white door to a bedroom with bed, chair, and window. Room nameplate reads "Carl."
