The People Who Call the Inn Home...
Get to know the friendly faces — and paws — that bring warmth and character to The Inn at Montross.
Timeline of The Inn at Montross
The Inn at Montross has been a part of the town’s story for generations. Over the years, ownership has changed hands more than a few times, but the bones of the inn — its character, warmth, and welcoming spirit — have always remained the same. These days, the inn is lovingly run by Owen and Buster — though depending on who you ask, it might be Buster and Owen.

owen Caine
"Innkeeper"
Owen found his way to Montross by way of Washington, D.C., but his journey started much farther north. Originally from the greater Boston area, Owen headed west for college at the University of Southern California, where he developed both a love for adventure and an appreciation for great hospitality.
After college, he made his way back east to Washington, D.C., where he continues to work in the trade association world — a career that keeps him connected, curious, and always on the move. In the summer of 2025, Owen purchased The Inn at Montross, drawn to its historic charm and the chance to carry forward its legacy as a welcoming gathering place in the heart of town.

Buster
"Resident “Boccerone” & Official Greeter"
Every great inn needs a great host — and at The Inn at Montross, that’s Buster. Equal parts charm and personality, Buster takes his role as resident “boccerone” (that’s a canine version of a host, for those wondering) very seriously. He’s the first to greet guests, the keeper of good moods, and the source of more than a few laughs around the porch.
When he’s not overseeing check-ins or “supervising” breakfast, you can usually find Buster sunning himself on the steps or taking well-deserved naps between duties. Whether you’re here for a night or a weekend, expect a warm welcome — and maybe a wag or two — from Buster himself.
